Job Summary:

Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments to determine client or patient needs.
2. Develop individualized meal plans based on specific nutrition goals and dietary restrictions.
3. Educate clients or patients about the importance of a balanced diet and provide guidelines for healthy eating habits.
4. Monitor and evaluate clients' progress towards their nutrition goals, making necessary adjustments to their meal plans.
5. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, such as doctors and nurses, to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
6. Stay updated with the latest research, developments, and trends in nutrition and dietary science.
7. Provide group presentations and counseling sessions to promote understanding and awareness of nutrition and health.
8. Assist in the development of policies and guidelines related to nutrition practices.
9. Compile and maintain detailed records of nutrition assessments, plans, and progress.
10. Conduct research studies related to dietetics and contribute to evidence-based nutrition practices.

Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in dietetics, nutrition, or a related field.
2. Must hold a valid Registered Dietician (RD) certification.
3. Strong knowledge of nutrition principles, dietary guidelines, and food science.
4. Prior experience working in a clinical or healthcare setting is preferred.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively educate and counsel clients or patients.
6. Ability to work independently and make evidence-based decisions.
7. Strong organizational and time management skills.
8. Proficient computer skills, including the use of nutrition analysis software.
9. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and biochemistry is an advantage.
10. Ability to adapt and customize information to suit the needs and comprehension levels of different individuals.
11. Valid state license to practice as a Registered Dietician (RD).
