GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Gummy Machine Operator 3 in the Gummy Department is responsible for the production operations within the department; troubleshoots problems on the production line, ensures all documentation is completed correctly and communicates with production management to strive for zero machines downtime.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

- Support and assist setup activities and startup of the manufacturing process.
- Perform/Assist in the process of cooking, dosing, depositing, and post-processing of gummy products.
- Ensure all documentation including batch records, logbooks, and other official batch related documentation has been completed on-time, and accurately.
- Examine and evaluate the product to determine consistent quality in texture, shape, color and flavor.
- Monitor and control process parameters, assuring that all variables are within specification set ranges.
- Responsible for large-scale manufacturing batches of gummy products and/or other nutraceutical products.
- Perform quality control checks throughout the manufacturing process.
- Keep account of all inventory to ensure all raw ingredients are available for use.
- Feed and maintain raw ingredients into hoppers, mix tanks, or other manufacturing equipment.
- Perform pre-weighing, batching, curing, and bulk packaging of manufactured products.
- Support all assigned personnel. Assure that assignments are completed within schedules and according to SOPs and cGMP’s.
- Ensures daily communication between shift leads and supervisors during shift transitions.
- Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and housekeeping organization.
- Follows established department SOP's, cGMP regulations, and batch record instructions.
- Maintains a safe work environment and operates in a safe manner.
- Perform other job duties related to the job, as assigned by management.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, education, and/or abilities required for the job:
- Proficient skills in reading, writing, and speaking in English; bilingual (English/Spanish) skills a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills & techniques.
- Basic math skills; proficiency with 10-key calculator.
- REDZONE manufacturing software system skills are desirable
- Effective planning & organizing skills; ability to handle multiple task/duties.
- Proficient PC / PLC skills.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of general office skills and administrative procedures, including, but not limited to: filing, copying, scanning, faxing.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain a positive, professional, cooperative demeanor, conduct, and working relationship with peers, management, employees, and other individuals that interact with this position.
- Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, work rules, and protocols.

SELECTION GUIDELINES
The appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position are achievable through the following combination of education, work experience and training:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED Certificate; and
- Minimum 2 or more years of work experience in a fast-paced GMP/FDA regulated environment or relatable industry; or progressive advancement from Gummy Machine Operator II level; or
- Any combination of experience, education, and training provides the level of knowledge, skills, and experience needed to successfully perform the job.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS
The essential functions of this job require the employee to perform the following physical activities during work:
- Communicates orally with management, employees, co-workers, vendors, suppliers, governmental compliance agencies, and the general public by telephone or in-person, in one-on-one or group settings.
- Regularly uses a telephone, computer (e-mail), teams messenger, and fax for communication.
- Required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods during the course of the work shift.
- Routinely required to stoop, bend, kneel, lift, reach, pull, push, and tilt object in the performance of job function.
- Requires the essential use of hands, speech, eyesight, and hearing.
- Requires agility to operate multiple telephone lines with hands and head-set.
- Lifting limitations for this position: 25-30 lbs. May have to manipulate heavier containers.
- Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral and depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus as needed.
- Noise level for this work environment is typically low to moderate. Some work areas require hearing protection for an 8-hour work day.
- Periods of odoriferous environment.
- Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Personal Protective Equipment provided as necessary.
- Work environment may involve exposure to chemicals, solutions, detergents, or solvents that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of personal protective equipment.
- Work environment may involve exposure to allergens such as Soy, Wheat, Fish, Shell Fish, Milk, Egg, Tree nuts, and Sesame.
