Description
1. Manages all personnel matters at the direction of the Center Manager: Recruits, Hires, Trains, Promotes, Counsels, Dismisses Associates.
2. Responsible for cash management including accepting cash, check and credit payments for resort services and for end-of-day cash drawer balance.
3. Assists with Center compliance of federal and local labor laws: OSHA, EEOC, ADA, Fair Labor Practices.
4. Schedules staff for work assignments, allowing ample staff to provide outstanding service while maintaining budget.
5. Monitors and responds to the needs of pet guests to ensure their safety, security, and comfort.
6. Administers all medications to pet guests as required.
7. Provides customer service and salesmanship.
8. Resolves customer complaints.
9. Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies; Reorders and restocks as necessary.
10. Shops for miscellaneous supplies as needed.
11. Manages the computer reservation system.
12. In absence of the Manager, addresses all physical plant needs to maintain a safe, comfortable environment for pets and Associates.
13. Assists Manager with monitoring financial reports and statistics.
14. Prepares and distributes required statistical and financial data.
15. In absence of Manager, ensures that bank deposits are made daily.
16. Promotes and markets Best Friends programs and services internally, and to the outside community at large.
17. Establishes and maintains network connections with the community in which the Center is located.
18. Ensures that Pet Guest Report, Pet Grooming report and Report Cards are given to all customers.
19. Views the Safe Handling Training Video and Completes the Safe Handling Training Workbook.
20. Supports the Mission and Philosophy of Best Friends Pet Care, Inc.
21. Treats customers, guests, visitors and co-workers in professional, courteous manner.
22. Assists other Associates as needed.
23. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Physical and Personal: Must be able to work evenings weekends and holidays. Must be able to frequently lift 40 pounds. Must be able to be on feet eight hours per day. Must be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently. Must be able to utilize multi-line telephone. Must be able to work on computer system. Must be able to handle dogs on leashes. Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions. Ability to resolve problems quickly and professionally. Ability to supervise, motivate and counsel employees. Must have strong communication skills - Open; Honest. Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Must possess a love of animals. Displays a professional manner at all times
Education: Associate or Bachelor of Science Degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year management experience. Previous experience with animals a plus.
