SMERF Group Sales Manager

The Best Western Executive Residency Southfield-Detroit seeks a highly motivated Sales Manager to join our team. Being in sales at the Best Western Executive Residency is more than just growing sales and achieving revenue targets. You are also responsible for setting expectations for how clients work with our hotel. The S.M.E.R.F. Sales Manager is a sales person who has demonstrated through performance a thorough understanding and competence in sales, account management functions and the hotel S.M.E.R.F. industry. Responsibilities include:

• Selling guest rooms and Best Western services to transient market customers through Sports, Military, University, Religious and Fraternity accounts, travel agencies, with individual travel, group base and whole sales travel groups.
• Conducting site tours for potential clients and social groups with the objective of closing the business.
• Assisting Director of Sales in outgoing correspondence to hotel clients (e.g. emails to clients, contracts, proposals, sales flyers, thank you letters, etc).
• Serving as liaison between Director of Sales and front desk staff to ensure special client requests are fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner.

• Assisting Director of Sales in administration of in-house mining program to provide leads for new business.
• Developing a clear understanding of hotel's revenue maximization strategy and quoting appropriate rates.
• Working with Director of Sales and Revenue Manager to create critical path and working budgets, tracking and reporting progress.
• Working with the Director of Sales in planning and execution of sales blitzes and client appreciation events.
• Responsible for handling all aspects of meetings and social events held in hotel's meeting room.
• Accompanying Director of Sales on outside sales appointments if required.
• Conducting tele-prospecting calls, internet research, Cold Calls and planned visits to help hotel's sales team identify sources for potential business.
• Networking with In-House Guests to source leads and potential business.
• Attending and participating in weekly sales meetings .
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environmen.t
• Refined verbal and written communication skills .
• A minimum of 2 years of hotel sales experience required.
• Must be proficient in general computer knowledge.
• Demonstrate proficiency in selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills.
• Community involvement and/or professional association is highly regarded .

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday

Supplemental Pay:

• Yearly bonus

• Southfield, MI 48033: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Willingness to travel:

• 25% (Required)
