Bethany Assembly is seeking a hands-on Custodian to create a clean, safe and excellent environment that optimizes our guest experience. The ideal candidate for this role should be organized, detail-oriented, adept at troubleshooting, and teachable. The Custodian must ensure that the facilities meet the daily needs of both the Church and Bethany Kids Learning Center (same building).
Custodian Responsibilities:
• Ensure facilities and grounds are always clean.
• Perform basic repair and maintenance.
• Paint facilities, assemble furniture and install fixtures as needed.
• Coordinate with contractors and suppliers.
• Coordinate and schedule routine maintenance and repairs.
• Schedule and accompany all inspections.
• Set up before and tear down after events.
• Maintain supplies and facilities records.
• Provide site support.
• Foster a professional working environment.
• Work with volunteers to coordinate cleaning, groundskeeping, and handiwork.
Custodian Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma — Required.
• 2 years of custodial experience — Required.
Custodian Requirements:
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication.
• Computer proficiency: iOS, Google Workspace, smartphone.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational ability.
• Capable of intense physical exertion.
The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation:
• Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs.
• Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 50 pounds regularly.
• Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
