We are seeking a Manager to lead our team of Refinance Escrow Closers on Better’s fastest growing new business line, Better Settlement Services (BSS). The Manager will be instrumental in the growth of Better’s rapidly expanding title insurance agency in Texas. This person will be responsible for managing operational processes and helping us evolve the state of title insurance. The ideal candidate is customer obsessed, has a strong industry experience, and is looking for a new challenge to make title insurance “Better”.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing day to day performance of the Refi Escrow Closing Team
- Build office morale and encourage growth and advancement opportunities
- Instill high customer service levels and expectations
- Manage compliance within the office with regard to company policies and procedures
- Accountable client satisfaction, quality of work, and maintaining company values
- Determine escrow requirements by studying and clarifying borrower and lender instructions
- Maintaining a daily task list (sahboard) on open files with no overdue tasks
- Prepare closing statements for borrower and lender
- Prepare title disclosure documents, lender attorney and final lender package to be sent to Snapdocs for mobile signing
- Monitor the performance of department staff and lead a team of in-house refinance escrow closer
- Assist with maintaining the quality and timeliness of the department, products, and services
- Review the work of team members to ensure timeliness and quality control

- Review title commitments and lender closing instructions for compliance status
- Regularly communicate with Clients, Lawyers, Realtors, Lenders, and mortgage brokers to timely and efficiently close transactions
- Prepare all closing and settlement documents, including escrow agreements, HUDs and Closing Disclosures (TRID), and deeds
- Fulfill the duties of an escrow officer, including the receipt and disbursement of funds
- Review all files before, during and after the closings to prevent and resolve any potential claims
- This role is designated as ‘Remote Mode,’ and employees are not expected to report into a Better office at any time. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is not required unless fully remote employees attend an onsite, in-person meeting, office event, or otherwise interface with Better employees and/or customers in person.
About You:
- 3 years of experience working at a in Title/escrow or Real Estate Law Firm production management and supervisory experience
- 3 Preparing Closing Disclosures
- Licensed Texas Escrow Officer a plus
- Qualia experience a plus
- Strong attention to detail, high degree of accuracy and excellent organizational skills
- Prior experience and interaction with structure and process of escrow related programs
- Proven track record of attaining production goals and streamlining workflow to maximize available resources within a centralized/back-office escrow production environment
- Ability to lead and motivate team members
- Commitment to customer service for our escrow branches required
- Project Management skills desired
- Advanced Computer Skills required
