Registered Nurse, Dialysis (Union)

Summary: The Registered Nurse in Dialysis works with Beverly Hospital medical practitioners to provide high-quality care to patients in need of dialysis therapy. Collaborates closely with medical practitioners, dieticians, social workers, and vascular access departments to meet dialysis patient care needs. The team member utilizes Standard Clinical practice for Nephrology Nursing. His/Her primary responsibility is to provide the patient with a safe and effective dialysis treatment. He/She will utilize the Nursing process to coordinate the dialysis patient's care.
Requirements: Graduate of an approved Bachelor or Associate school of nursing and current CA Registered Nurse license. Current BLS and ACLS certification is required and must be obtained. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Must have basic computer knowledge. Must be able to demonstrate safe operation of dialysis machines. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and observation skills. Required ability to calmly implement patient interventions during high-stress and critical situations. Individuals must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served on his/her assigned unit/department. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the area's policies and procedures. 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred. A minimum of 1-2 years in Dialysis nursing or Vascular access certification is preferred. Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) preferred. **Specialty Pay Available"
