Good Heart Recovery is seeking enthusiastic Registered Nurse candidates for our substance use/co-occurring disorder treatment facility located in Santa Barbara, CA!
Available shifts:
Day & Overnight shifts available
10 hour shifts
Full-time and Part-time positions available
Responsibilities of the RN include:
- Works as part of a health care team to assess client needs, plan and modify care and implement interventions.
- Works closely with Physician to monitor and plan client care, especially as it relates to management of detox and medical comorbidities.
- Observes clients, documenting and reporting changes in clients’ conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment and taking any necessary action.
- Evaluates medical concerns and directs clients to emergency medical care when required.
- Assists with hourly assessments of clients, addressing both medical and mental health issues as indicated.
- Performs breath analysis, monitors urine test samples from clients, and performs CIWAS and COWS. Documents and records results.
- Assists with self-administration of medication, to include observation and documentation of client adherence to medication regimen.
- Reviews medication logs and consults with clients and physicians regarding refills.
- Measures and records client vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration when required.
- Maintains compliance with HIPAA regulations, ADA, DHCS and Joint Commission policies and procedures.
- Monitors environment for safety and intervenes as indicated.
- Provides psychoeducation both individually and in the group setting.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current California RN license required
- 1 year of psychiatric or chemical dependency nursing experience is desired
- Experience with detox preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate if necessary!
- Experience using an electronic health record, KIPU or Zen experience a plus!
