Registered Nurse (RN): Post operative surgical acute care, telemetry unit | $30,000 Sign-On Bonus for qualifying candidates
Unit Overview:
5G is a 22-bed post operative surgical acute care, telemetry unit. The unit specializes in the colorectal surgery patient population with comprehensive ERAS protocols that have great quality outcomes. 5G also serves the general surgery population, complex patients with multiple co-morbidities & MDRO patients while also treating stable cardiac patients. 5G accommodates patients from the adult to geriatric population. Points of access for this population can be from multiple origins including outpatient surgery, emergency department, transfers within the hospital, direct admits from physician offices and other outlying facilities. The purpose of this unit is to provide great quality outcomes and care to all patients through a multidisciplinary team approach.

Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.

Nursing practices are based on evidence and current research as well as hospital and department policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.

As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:
Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
Those with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
Basic life support
ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.
