Job Description
The Channel Development Manager provides the Customer Team direction and leadership for the category and customer strategy. The CDM is responsible for directing and translating broad strategies down to strategic channel/market/account plans and facilitating the evolution towards “Superior Customer Engagement” utilizing category information, consumer insights, census data and point of sales information while ensuring the effective utilization of all company resources to deliver sales results.
- Own the Customer Planning Process - Including timing, planning, ROI, pipeline, and TPO
- Develop the class of trade strategic initiatives for the category - Including broader P&L responsibility
- Actively involved in "Superior Customer Engagement" with influential chains nationally
- Develop 5P strategies for the channel based on brand and sales strategies
- Oversee analysis of rolled up customer plans to ensure they are aligned with retail environment strategies/priorities
- Support the trade funding programs for the channel in conjunction with the national Business Development Managers
- Stay current with all competitive merchandising strategies, promotion and spending
- Coaches and develop Business Analysts Work with National Account Manager and Sales Directors to penetrate senior levels of major customers in the region to develop strategic relationships
Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree
- Minimum 5 years in category management experience
- Minimum 3 years in National Account Manager, Broker Manager, Customer Development Manager, Team Leader Roles
