National Youth Engagement Deputy Director

The National Youth Engagement Deputy Director reports to the National Youth Engagement Director and will execute the campaign’s national programmatic efforts to reach, engage, and mobilize young voters nationwide. 


An organizer at heart, this ultimate utility player will build and manage the youth program. 


The Deputy Director will work with partners across the campaign and with key stakeholders to break through the noise about what’s at stake for young people this election, build relationships with trusted messengers to reach the community where they are, and mobilize a critical coalition of leaders to enthusiastically re-elect President Biden and Vice President Harris.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement national coalition programming & assets in partnership with other campaign departments to achieve campaign strategy goals.
  • Project manager of youth engagement program components to meet campaign goals.
  • Engage and project manage deliverables with interdepartmental stakeholders focused on young voter engagement.
  • Evaluate campaign plans with a focused lens toward voter contact programs and narrative development for young voters, along with an understanding of data and targeting. 
  • Supports National Youth Engagement Director in executing campaign priorities.
  • Serves as consultant to states & HQ departments on youth voter engagement strategies.
  • Travels as surrogate to states for coalition-based events & convenings as needed.
  • Speaks as campaign spokesperson & trainer on coalition-related surrogate training events.
  • Builds and manages relationships as a convener and point person with national coalition leaders supporting their onboarding into impactful campaign activities supportive of campaign strategy.
  • Organize support with key messengers to support battleground states.
  • Execute rapid response activities aligned with the direction of the National Youth Engagement Director, Coalitions Director, and Political Director.


Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Political relationship and coalition management skills, in particular a proven track record and experience in engaging youth/student-led advocacy and voter engagement organizations in a state or nationally. 
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience managing campaign or issue advocacy efforts that focused on engaging young people.
  • Public speaking and comfort in building new relationships.
  • Innovative thinker, self-starter, and collaborative organizer.
  • Accountable to deadlines, detail oriented, and a clear communicator.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort in building consensus.
  • A team player that recognizes the importance of working collaboratively and communicating at a high level with their teammates.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and is able to balance rapid response needs with focused program implementation.
