Manager Definition and Description of Duties

The Store Manager Position is a “Hands-On” Position, meaning, the store manager is required to work in the store30-40 hours a week and perform all the duties of a Sandwich Artist ®, as follows:

The Sandwich Artist® greets and serves guests, prepares product, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, and performs required open/mid/close lists, prep lists, bread calculations, etc.. The Sandwich Artist® maintains a clean and safe environment and possesses Exceptional customer service skills.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 1. Exhibits a cheerful and helpful manner while greeting guests and preparing their orders.
  • 2. Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu items and explains them to guests accurately.
  • 3. Uses Point of Sale system to record the order and compute the amount of the bill. Collects payment from guests and makes change.
  • 4. Performs Cash-In Procedure- accounting for all forms of money, bread, etc., during the shift.
  • 5. Prepares food neatly, according to formula, and in a timely manner.
  • 6. Checks products in sandwich unit area and restocks items to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift.
  • 7. Understands and adheres to proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards during food preparation, service and clean up.
  • 8. Cleans and maintains all areas of the restaurant to promote a clean image.
  • 9. Understands and adheres to all quality standards, formulas and procedures as outlined in the SUBWAY® Operations Manual.
  • 10. Maintains a professional appearance and grooming standards as outlined in the SUBWAY® Operations Manual. 11.

In addition to this the Manager is allowed 3-5 hours to complete Manager Tasks and additional store cleaning. The Manager performs and directs overall restaurant management. Directs staff to ensure that food safety, product preparation, and cleanliness standards are maintained. Maintains standards of restaurant safety and security. Recruits staff and oversees training program. Responsible for inventory and money control systems.

Maintains business records.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Trains all new Sandwich Artists® in their tasks and responsibilities.2. Performs and maintains all inventory control standards Controls and Maintains Food Cost levels.3. Ability to control prod and food cost levels4. Inspects equipment and storage facilities throughout a shift to ensure that equipment is in proper working order.5. Performs all paperwork duties.6. Completes and posts the staff work schedules (Maintaining Prod).7. Recruits, rewards and terminates staff as needed.8. Communicates changes of food preparations formulas, standards, etc. to staff.9. Ensures that all local and national health and food safety codes are maintained, and company safety and security policy are followed.10. Maintains business records as outlined in the SUBWAY® Operations Manual. Analyzes business records to increase sales.

Key Points and duties are as follows:

  • Perform all responsibilities of management including but not limited to; o Scheduling (Maintaining Prod) o Sysco ordering o Receiving deliveries o Entering inventory deliveries o Completing and verifying accuracy of End of Week Paperwork o Covering shifts
  • Employee/Employer relations, as a manager you are to conduct yourself as a professional in a capacity of

authority over the staff, this includes; o Resolving employee issues o Correcting improper behaviors; o Ensuring company protocols are being properly executed, ie.

  • Proper hand washing
  • Proper bread baking
  • Following lists
  • Store cleanliness and safety
  • A positive attitude toward your job and staff

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
