What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager position at BIG SHOULDERS COFFEE?
Big Shoulders Coffee is looking for a shop manager to join our team at our West Town location. We are a critically acclaimed Chicago-based coffee roaster in search of a qualified individual to help lead our already-amazing staff. We believe in sustaining profitable growth by providing the best customer experience for our guests and co-workers. Ideal applicants are responsible, hard working, display a strong passion for our industry, and has a natural ability to lead a team. Prior specialty coffee experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Train employees and monitor operations to ensure customer expectations are exceeded
- Staff and schedule appropriately to control labor costs
- Resolve conflicts that may arise from customers or employees in a professional manner
- Ensure appropriate inventory and ordering systems are in place
- Maintain coffee/recipe standards
Qualifications
- Experience in specialty coffee
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong time-management skills; ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize
- Proven ability to lead
