What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Receptionist/Manager position at Big Valley Pet Resort?
Big Valley Pet Resort is a fast-paced pet boarding and dog grooming facility that is looking for passionate animal lovers to join our Front Desk/Management team.
Ideal candidates will have prior experience working in an animal care facility in a customer service or front desk role. In this role, you will need to have excellent communication, critical thinking and time management skills. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, multi-tasking and ability to prioritize tasks is critical.
The role will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Greet and welcome dogs, cats, exotic animals, and their owners, as they check in/out for boarding, daycare or grooming in a friendly and professional manner.
- Check-in and check-out clients on computer system (Gingr platform)
- Answer phone calls and respond to client inquiries.
- Provide information about services offered at Big Valley Pet Resort.
- Work with other front desk team members, kennel attendants and groomers to resolve any concerns, questions or complaints from clients.
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk/reception area.
- Process payments for client services rendered.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as email correspondence, supply ordering,
data entry, social media entries, etc.
- Supervise staff to ensure job responsibilities are being met.
- Assist with cleaning, feeding and maintenance of Cat Boarding Room and exotic animal reservations.
- Walk dogs back to kennels, as needed.
- Must be a team player with good communication skills, willingness to take direction, guidance, feedback from others and be an encouraging member of the team.
- The safety and comfort of the animals is most important at Big Valley so a passion for animals and understanding of their temperament, behavior and needs is critical.
Position is 4 days a week from 7:30am-5pm, with some flexible scheduling.

Salary Range: $17-$22 per hour/DOE
