POSITION TITLE: ASSISTANT BAKERY SALES MANAGER
SUMMARY OF ROLE: Exceed our customers’ evolving expectations by preparing and ensuring the freshest quality product while providing World Class customer service and a pleasant and rewarding shopping experience. Our reserve bakery sales manager is responsible for assisting in achieving sales/operational results through hiring, training, goal setting, decision-making and supervising employees within the bakery area.

1. Must have successfully completed or be working toward completing Department Manager Certification.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
assist the bakery sales manager in the following functions as needed: 1. Recruit, interview and hire employees, while mirroring the community we serve.2. Supervise, direct the work of, set goals and delegate tasks using discretion and independent judgment.3. Assist with technical tasks and demands as necessary within the department i.e. customer service, baking/processing, donut making, cake decorating, packaging/labeling, panning
4. Create and alter weekly schedules while controlling payroll costs.5. Arrange for and conduct ongoing training, completion of checklists and communication with all employees working within your area.6. Identify and prepare selected trainee(s) for a management position.7. Cultivate growth through the cross-development of high potential employees.8. Ensure all Learning Hub™ requirements are up to date and completed by department employees.9. Complete and ensure that all departmental employees complete all training requirements by respective due dates.10. Evaluate, coach, reward, recognize employees and celebrate successes.11. Primary responsibility for evaluating and administering the performance evaluation of employees within the department.12. Primary responsibility for making recommendations on compensation for employees within the department.13. Primary responsibility for making recommendations on advancement, promotions and other changes in status for employees within the department.14. Handle conflict and grievances between employees and exercise authority to counsel and discipline employees up to and including unpaid suspension and termination.

Monitor, order, receive, maintain and otherwise control the utilization and distribution of department product and/or supplies using appropriate tools.19. Ensure proper department conditions (e.g., shelf, case, sales floor, backroom, freezer, and cooler, etc.).20. Ensure accuracy of pricing and product deliveries.21. Oversee operation, cleanliness, and maintain equipment/machinery, tools, and workstations.22. Collaborate with management team to ensure interdependence throughout the store and Company.23. Engage in and encourage continuous improvement through ideas and innovation (e.g., Chairman’s Challenge).24. Adhere to and enforce all government employment and labor regulations, as well as all Company policies and procedures (e.g ., employment laws concerning minors, harassment, discrimination, etc.).
25. Adhere to and enforce all government foods safety and sanitation regulations, as well as all Company policies and procedures (e.g., processing, cleaning, culling, coding, rotating, maintaining proper temperatures).
26. Adhere to and enforce all government safety regulations, as well as all Company policies and procedures (e.g., proper use of equipment, cleaning, straightening, sweeping, clearing unsafe conditions, etc.) to ensure the safety of employees and customers. Report and collaborate with Risk Management on all claims.
27. Adhere to and enforce all Company loss prevention policies and procedures (e.g., taking accurate inventory, controlling waste and utilities, damaged goods, reporting theft, etc.).
28. Adhere to and enforce all Company procedures regarding store conditions as outlined in 5S ( Sort and remove, Shine and inspect, Set locations and visual cues, Systematize, Stay the course).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Medium work: Lifting 50 lb. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.2. Continuously standing, walking, and handling.3. Frequently bending, reaching, balancing, and feeling.4. Occasionally squatting, climbing, kneeling, or crouching.5. Work in cold (freezer/cooler) and/or heat (ovens) as needed.
