An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a Greenkeeper to join the Greenkeeping team at Hornsea Golf Club.
Hornsea Golf Club, ranked in the top 25 courses in Yorkshire was established in 1898, moving to the existing site in 1908. The original design of the current course was by Alex (Sandy) Herd. In 1912 Dr Alister MacKenzie advised on numerous aspects of the course, particularly greens. More recently, in 2010 Howard Swan made recommendation’s which now form part of Hornsea’s Course Policy. Our Course Director is Gareth Williams, who returned to his ‘home’ club as Course Director in 2006 following time at Wentworth, Sarasota, and Turnberry.
Position: Full-time Greenkeeper
Responsible to: Course Director
Renumeration: Negotiable depending on qualification & experience
Duties:
To carry out routine golf course maintenance as directed by the Course Director. The position requires working outside, with the club providing the necessary uniform and PPE. The successful candidate will be able to work well individually or as part of a team.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years greenkeeping experience
- Full clean driving licence
- NVQ Level 2 greenkeeping or above, Spraying qualifications PA1 and PA6 & Chain saw qualifications are desirable but not essential
