Position Summary:
The position will hold responsibility for developing new business within a territory in North America and Canada for Bio-Techne’s Analytical Solutions Division, managed from the Bio-Techne’s Minneapolis headquarters, and for achieving sales quotas for immunoassay products. This includes responsibilities for Simple Plex cartridges for the Ella platform and R&D Systems brand Luminex assays. By working closely with your Immunoassay Specialists and commercial team members, you will source new business as well as work with existing customers on their next immunoassay projects. In this position you will be expected to develop and maintain a high level of academic and pharmaceutical market knowledge, including application workflows that our immunoassay products are utilized in.
Key Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Inside Sales Supervisor, develop and drive new/existing business opportunities in a specific territory within North America.
- Use a selection of channels to identify and qualify new business opportunities, including inbound lead follow up, outbound warm and cold calls, emails, Teams video calls, and social media.
- Look to implement new and innovative strategies to identify new business and revenue streams.
- Keep all channels of communication open with internal and external sales teams, lead generation and marketing within Bio-Techne.
- Maintain awareness and knowledge of marketplace and competitors. Report findings and potential pipeline both during team meetings and individual updates to Supervisor as needed.
- Quoting of immunoassay business unit products on your own or in partnership with field sales team.
- Provide logistical support for tracking and shipment of customer orders. Work closely with Customer Care and internal databases to obtain relevant information.
- Ensure current customers are aware of immunoassay product offerings, application notes, and events such as tradeshows through partnership with Marketing and sales projects.
- Assist with territory support as needed.
- Initiate and organize territory meetings with commercial colleagues.
- Present Ella and Luminex technology and solutions to customers.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a biological based subject. Immunology coursework and/or experience is a big plus. Laboratory experience desired but not required.
- An understanding of the life science research reagents market and Bio-Techne portfolio.
- Demonstrable experience of working within a sales environment with a strong commercial focus.
- Experience of using own initiative and working in a target-driven environment.
- Ability to track return on investment (ROI) and key performance indicators (KPI’s).
- Possess excellent IT skills; including experience of working with databases, Office Outlook, Excel and Word are essential.
- SalesForce.com experience desirable.
