OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
The Facilities Associate will the general maintenance of the Colorado facility spaces with a focus on enabling team member productivity. The Facilities Coordinator will have a passion for supporting others, possess an innate sense of urgency, and care deeply about fostering an inclusive facility environment where all team members can maximize productivity. This position will ensure all Biodesix laboratory spaces and extended facilities are safe to work in and are well-maintained. Responsibilities include the upkeep of our general building, laboratory spaces and equipment, and general stocking of non-inventory items.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates with external contractors and service personnel including those retained by the respective building owners, as required for the maintenance and occasional upgrade of the facilities.
- Ensures timely routinely and proactively inspecting the facilities as needed.
- Acts as secondary point of contact for certain building inspections (sprinklers, elevators, back-up generator, make-up air, fire, and water systems; extinguishers, backflow, etc.
- Maintains recordkeeping for accurate maintenance, purchase, and repair records.
- Assists with the coordination of building-support vendors (Orkin, Janitorial, Construction, etc.).
- Communication/Coordination with internal stake holders, as needed Supports facility soft services (Catering, Stocking, Office relocations etc.) as needed.
- Supports the organization with ad hoc requests, including but not limited to, room set up, catering set up, etc.
- Restocks office supplies and snacks.
- Collaborate across both Biodesix locations (Colorado & Kansas) to ensure consistency and collaboration.
COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent communicator
- Generally handy with basic hand tools and building repairs
- Ability to work successfully with multiple internal and external stakeholder in securing timely decisions on key purchases and agreements
- Ability to meet timelines with while keeping team updated on progress and hurdles
- Valid state-issued driver’s license
- Willingness to attempt minor facilities repairs and get hands dirty.
- A mechanical sense of how equipment operates to communicate with repairmen.
- Working knowledge of office equipment (printers, scanners, copiers)
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma
- At least 3 years providing facility support and maintenance in a commercial setting

This role shall comply, at a minimum, with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined in:
- CLIA: Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) Requirements, Title 42 Code of Federal Regulations Part 493
- CAP: College of American Pathologists (CAP): All Common, General, Director Responsibility and Authority and all test-specific checklists
- NYS CLEP: New York State Department of Health, Clinical Laboratory Evaluation Program (CLEP), New York State Public Health Law, Article 5 Title 5
- ISO: International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 13485, Quality Management Systems, Requirements for Regulatory Purposes, 2016
- All other applicable state and regulatory governing authorities including but not limited to: CA, PA, RI, MD
