Position Summary:
Manage procurement and inventory levels for buy items under position responsibility. Maintain safety stock levels preventing production downtime. Represent Supply Chain concerns on cross-functional teams. Work with external vendors to achieve organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage the procurement and inventory on a daily basis by ensuring no stock outs and/or productions outages.
- Review raw material / component inventories to assure appropriate levels are maintained.
- Provide rolling forecasts to Suppliers on quarterly basis. Gain management approval including Purchasing before forecasts are issued to Suppliers.
- Provide detailed analysis and reports as requested. SAP will be a main source for analysis and reports.
- Closely work in team environment to provide effective results. Participate on projects teams as required.
- Communicate with all functional groups to ensure continuous raw material flow throughout the Supply Chain.
- Train on SOP’s in a timely fashion to maintain training compliance goals.
- Participate in periodic area safety inspections
- Follow company guidelines and policies. Work in a safe and responsible manner.
- Participation in departmental audits, both internally and externally.
- Some travel to visit Suppliers may be required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Studies and Experience:
- Associates Degree with 3 years of relevant experience or
- High School Diploma or GED with 5 years in a regulated environment or 3 years in a regulated environment and APICS/ASCM Certification or
- Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain or related field with 0-1 years experience.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge and understanding of MRP systems.
- Prior Purchasing / Buyer experience desired.
- Prior SAP experience desired.
Knowledge and understanding of SAP and its functionality. Needs strong technical proficiency with SAP platform.
Proficient with MS Office, Excel, Word and Outlook.
Knowledge and understanding of SOP’s released to CGMP compliance.
