What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Phlebotomist position at Biotech Clinical Laboratories?

Biotech/RSL Medical Marketing is looking for a dependable and enthusiastic phlebotomist/specimen collector to lead a medication monitoring program in the doctor's office. Candidate should hold a positive attitude to learning and be well-rounded to interact with a variety of demographics.

Responsibilities (include but not limited to)

  • Identify patient's needing to be tested/recognize patient's prescribed to controlled medications
  • Perform on-site collection of blood/urine/oral specimen for screening based on established office protocol
  • Prepare and package specimens collected to be sent to the laboratory for testing; including attachment of appropriate paperwork: requisition form, insurance, demographics, etc. (complete and legible)
  • Maintain documentation of each specimen collected for the day (EHR/tracking log)
  • Maintain organization of consent forms and lab orders
  • Upload results from portal into EHR
  • Manage inventory provided by Biotech; including reordering inventory for office
  • Continue the established positive relationship with clinic staff and patients
  • Communicate appropriately with clinic staff and patients

Qualifications

  • Positive work ethic and attitude
  • Fast learner/adaptable to situation
  • Basic rhetoric and computer skills (EMR/EHR)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Able to work with diverse demographics
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation (can provide proof of both)
  • Pre-employment background check with no felony convictions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
