Event Staff

Bishop's Events is a high-energy event management company that hosts over 120 running events in the DMV area per year. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated applicants to add to our day-of event staff. Our events are held on weekends and typically run from 6am to 11am. Responsibilities include

- Assisting in registration and runner check-in

- Supporting runners on the course by handout water/gatorade and directing runner where to go

- Setting up and taking down signs, course markers and water stations on the race course

- Providing a positive customer service experience for every runner participating in the event

- Handing out finisher medals and awards

- Aiding the event timer and race director with any other additional tasks that may arise on race day

Our event staff does have the opportunity to take higher role within the company including event timer and race director.

Requirements for Position:

- Timeliness & Reliability - Every singe one of our staff members are integral to ensuring our events are able to run smoothly. We need employees who are consistently able to work and arrive on time.

- Customer Service Experience - You will encounter a high volume of people VERY early in the morning, often answering the same questions repeatedly. We need employees that are able to provide a consistent, positive customer service experience to each our runners.

- Weekend Availability - Our events are only hosted on weekends. Our idea candidate would work 4-5 events per month.

- Reliable Transportation - The location of our events vary and it is the responsibility to the employee to have transportation to the events. Please note that the arrival time for our events is typically 6-7am, before public transportation is open.

If we feel like you're a good fit for the position we will invite you to an onsite interview/employee shadowing at one of our events. This will consist of the candidate spending time with another employee during the event. At the end of the event, the candidate will meet with the race director to complete the interview.

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
