The BJC Technology Delivery Excellence team leads, supports, manages, governs and provides standards in all areas pertaining to Project/Program/Product/Portfolio Management, Business Analysis, Agile and Change Management. We aim to provide the best in-class delivery support that is human centered and aligns with our BJC goals and values.

Must in the St. Louis region, requires onsite 1-2x a week

Information Services is comprised of over 650 individuals working together to provide effective delivery of system development, implentation and support as well as strategic IT planning and analysis to BJC's Hospitals and health Service Organizations.

Role Purpose

The Manager, Agile Lead is responsible for creating an enterprise Agile coaching strategy, developing organization-wide Agile skills, and providing people leadership of the Agile coaches/Scrum Masters within that Delivery function. This role is responsible for moving the organizational mindset forward with appropriate processes and behaviors as part of a larger cultural shift. The Manager, Agile Lead uses their experience and influencing abilities to enable an agile mindset and skillset within our culture, empowering interdisciplinary teams to work more efficiently, and serves as an agile expert and champion across the organization. This leader will ensure high value delivery across teams. They will lead the maturity of the agile capability through the Lean Agile Center of Excellence (LACE) and our Agile Community of Practice. They will also manage and maintain the support of our agile career ladder and support the career development of the agilest within our technology organization.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Facilitates cross-functional leadership teams to deliver organizational goals and outcomes.Designs repeatable, systematic or ad hoc team processes for decision-making, prioritization, and problem-solving at the highest level. Guides leadership teams in developing shared responsibilities and making decisions that enable sustainable agreements.Asks questions and raises awareness of leadership team performance. Provides suggestions to encourage teams to learn and improve how they work together.Champions the development of self-organizing workgroups across the organization.
  • Represents and leads organizational capability improvement at the highest level.Determines the need for strategic organization-level capability improvement to satisfy the organization's strategic goals and long-term objectives.Liaises with the organization's functions to establish requirements and identifies, proposes, initiates and leads significant organizational capability improvement programmed.Manages the quality and appropriateness of the work performed and delivers measurable business benefits. Adopts and/or modifies existing capability improvement approaches as necessary.
  • Defines and communicates the approach for change management for a significant part of the organization.Initiates, plans and leads strategic, large and complex change management initiatives. Provides guidance and raises awareness to help change leaders demonstrate effective behaviors to deliver organizational change.Establishes feedback processes and leads analyses of change management successes.Enables continual improvements to change management methodology, tools and training necessary to enhance the maturity across the organization.
  • Establishes and communicates the need and rationale for organizational structure and culture change.Secures organizational commitment and resources needed for organizational and culture change.Leads organizational change by removing obstacles, advocating and lobbying for change at the highest levels.Puts in place mechanisms to reinforce and embed organizational and culture change. Acts as a role model for desired behaviors and sets consistent standards and expectations.
  • Develops organizational policies, standards, and guidelines for methods and tools.Sets direction and leads in the introduction and use of techniques, methodologies and tools, to meet business requirements.Leads the development of organizational capabilities for methods and tools to ensure consistent adoption and adherence to policies and standards.
