Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Performs diagnostic imaging procedures in Ultrasound on adults and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment, and quality control. Assists staff technologist in prioritizing and problem-solving patient care or imaging concerns, and serves as a resource person. Delegates tasks to ensure proper daily operations. Assumes responsibilities of supervisor in their absence. Assists in the development and training of students and/or new employees. Provides continuing mentorship to the team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assists in development, implementation and support of process improvement activities and monitors the success of implementation of new processes or changes.
  • Oversees shift operations to include daily workflow, assignments, lunch schedules, and adjusts priorities and assignments to best meet department needs. Enters/escalates IT and equipment tickets.
  • Serves as the clinical resource and expert for the technologists. Their responsibilities include but are not limited to: problem solving, assisting with difficult exams, and mentoring.
  • Serves as the clinical liaison between the team and leadership team. Ensures that proper information is communicated from the team and escalated to the supervisor appropriately.
  • Performs ultrasound imaging examinations and ensures proper documentation of procedures. Ensures proper function and readiness of all equipment. Performs studies independently, may perform studies on-call, portable exams, and at other sites as required by work area.
