SUMMARY: Contributor in providing software solutions, including design, code and testing, for a variety of academic and non-academic application systems.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interact with end users for clarification of requirements.
- Plays an active role in the design, development and support of various software applications used by the academic business units at Bob Jones University.
- Writes program specifications as needed from business requirements as well as converts designs and specifications into computer code.
- Provides unit and system level test planning, scripting and execution to validate solutions.
- Provides technical assistance to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with programs.
- Maintains working knowledge of current technologies through peer interaction and independent study.
- Provides work estimates, schedules and progress reports as needed.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of object-oriented software technology
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Very good communication skills both written and oral
- Ability to work well with others
- Understanding of the University's goals and objectives.
