Description and Qualifications
Provides security duties for all Blackberry properties as directed. Provides information, directions, escorts, investigations as needed. Duties will include use of various security equipment, record keeping, patrolling, observations of activities and individuals in an assigned area such as, but not limited to, events, groups, and property control. Security duties include assessing problems, situations, and needs of the properties and exercising tact and judgment in bringing about a successful resolution.
This position will primarily be a Wednesday through Sunday 2pm-10pm shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Physically patrols buildings, grounds, and parking lots to observe and identify potential safety risks, security risks and/or undesirable conditions
- Respond to emergency conditions, such as fire, safety hazards, threats to life and/or property
- Prevents unauthorized access
- Answers routine inquiries and directs guests and team members to appropriate areas
- Enforces correction of infractions through verbal warning, expels unruly persons, and identifies more serious offenders for proper authorities
- Investigates and writes reports for all incidents involving injury, property damage, threats, violent acts, and fires.
- Performs safety and security audits
- Monitors cameras, alarms, and systems
- Escorts team members after hours if necessary
- Works safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others
- Works cooperatively, courteously, yet firmly with guests and team members
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
To perform the essential functions of this position regular and consistent attendance is required.
Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers and interact with our guests.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work in a computer-based environment with familiarity in basic programs such as WORD and EXCEL
- Requires at least 3 years experience in Security
- Prefers experience in loss prevention and/or risk management
- Must have experience using multiple systems to maintain safety and security
- Prior Law Enforcement or Military background preferred, but not required
- Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record required
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, managers, and team members
REASONING ABILITY
- Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Basic knowledge of safety and security practices
- Ability to investigate incidents and document as needed
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to sit or stand for a long period of time
- Must be able to safely operate a golf cart and a company vehicle
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
