The Blackboard Global Renewals Team is focused on partnering with our internal field team and our strategic partners to secure long-term relationships with our clients with a focus on improving our client’s experiences with Blackboard and expanding on the broad range of innovative products/services which will deliver continuous improvement in their learning ecosystem.
As a Renewal Account Executive – US Public Sector on this team, you will support our US Corporate and Public Sector (Federal and State & Local) business segment.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Primary Blackboard sales representative for renewals, working directly with Blackboard channel partners and clients
- Work collaboratively with the internal account management and sales teams to develop and deliver win/win proposals which incorporate product/service expansion opportunities
- Lead internal cross-functional team on pricing, quoting and processing renewal contracts
- Achieve 100% on-time renewals and increase retention rates year to year
- Identify client account health risks and proactively incorporate mitigation strategies as part of renewal activities
- Proactively analyze client product use to ensure appropriate entitlements
- Contribute to and assist in executing the larger Blackboard renewal strategy in alignment with Blackboard’s corporate strategies
- Coordinate and provide regular updates on status and forecasts to business segment leader and other senior business leaders
- Use internal sales management and quoting tools successfully
- This role requires approximately 25% travel
The Candidate:
Required skills/qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in consultative selling, renewal management & relationship management in an enterprise/solution and/or technical sales environment required
- Strong knowledge of the corporate and government eLearning sector strongly preferred
- Knowledge of corporate and government procurement processes
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with and building relationships with channel partners, contracting officers and COTRs as part of the government sales process
- Highly developed client service and client satisfaction focus required
- Experience and ability in operating within a fast-paced, multi-disciplined virtual team
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills required
