Job Summary:
A BlackHawk Web Merchandising is the driver of the online customer experience within an industrial tool category. The role requires equal part attention to detail, self-motivation, analytics, project management and collaboration. The chosen individual must be able to manage time resources across multiple projects, have strong data and analytic skills and be a driven self-starter.
Ideally, the Digital Merchandiser would join BlackHawk with a well-rounded familiarity of Industrial Tools and Suppliers. However, the role requires an analytical, collaborative professional who obsesses over quality and improving the customer experience through data analysis and providing informed insights and context to various business opportunities and decisions. You bring the Digital Merchandising skills; we will teach you about Industrial Tools and adjacent categories.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Proven ability to learn new product categories, customer buying processes and technical specifications.
- Data management and enhancement: Work with Suppliers to procure relevant product data and structure it to be easily consumable to customers and search engines.
- Manage website browsing experience including site taxonomy, onsite search, product data, product attributes, category filtering, and site navigation strategy
- Searchable products: Optimize data inside web hierarchies with associated attributes to assure products are searchable with web tools.
- Analyze product, category, supplier, and brand performance data to continuously improve the scoring methodology for content enrichment strategy.
- Working with Category Directors and Suppliers to create supplier landing pages that contain Supplier write-ups, category data with category images, current catalogs and Supplier promotions.
- Ensuring that product detail pages contain the richest possible information for customers to make purchasing decisions.
Qualifications:
- 3 years proven experience in ecommerce, online merchandising or digital marketing.
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) and product information management (PIM) preferred
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint), SQL is a plus
- Experience with web analytics and data analysis. (i.e., Google Analytics, Adobe, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively communicate detailed or technical information to individuals with non-technical experience
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external agencies to produce projects from start to finish
- Working knowledge of onsite search is a plus
- Self-motivated, strategic thinker with ability to manage ambiguity
- BS degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business, or relevant field preferred
Travel Requirements: 5% travel
Supervisor responsibilities: No direct supervisory responsibility.
