BlackHorse is seeking an experienced Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer to perform data architecture, rapid prototyping, and capability integration. In this role you will be responsible for collaborating with customers and teammates to develop data solutions that lead to analytic and operational capabilities. You’ll be a critical member on a small team, responsible for bringing your high-level software engineering skills to bear on national security operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaboratively architect and develop complex data stores with multiple data sources while facilitating the use of that data in analytical models.
- Configure, support, troubleshoot, and integrate data solutions into cloud and virtual environments/infrastructure including AWS and VMware.
- Building required infrastructure and architecture for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources.
- Curate and collect data from a variety of traditional and non-traditional sources: extract data from sources, transform and integrate data in line with existing data, and load data into data stores for access by others.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists to develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
- Effectively communicate results and ideas to key decision makers, analysts, and other stakeholders.
- Perform documentation of all processes, models, and activities.
- Research latest data science tradecraft and technology.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in data engineering, application software development, and/or system integration
- B.S. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related discipline. Add'l years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Active TS/SCI
Desired Qualifications:
- Programming experience in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, Python, or C .
- Experience working in a cloud environment such as AWS, GCP, and/or Azure.
- Proficient working with large-scale multidimensional data and performing statistical analysis.
- Experience developing, debugging, and tuning data processing and analytics applications
- Experience working with modern tools for big data processing and scalable machine learning (e.g., AWS, GCP, Kafka, Apache Spark, Hadoop, SQL, NoSQL).
- Interest in learning and researching AI/ML and latest data science tradecraft and technology.
