Operations Engineer, Aladdin Engineering - Associate

About this role Operations Engineer We are looking for a technical support engineer to join the Production Engineering team, working within the Aladdin Platform Group. A person who has a passion for technical troubleshooting, learning new technology tools and improving new procedures & processes. This role involves identifying trends and being a problem solver with a proven aptitude for quickly learning new technologies and proprietary systems. You will be a technical product expert during customer implementation projects, organize and implement the system deployment plans, while automating software integration and developing reports in compliance with applicable project requirements. We have a broad and diverse skillset and are seeking a new team member to join us who will bring something additive and different. Role Responsibility Build, update, and maintain tooling to deploy, upgrade, monitor, and maintain infrastructure hosted in AWS and Azure. Designing, implementing and working with automated solutions for cloud-based infrastructure. Developing or modifying scripts, code to automate tasks and meet business requirements. Contribute to a library of software that enables the smooth operation of BlackRock products. Help to suggest and design both short-term and long-term engineering solutions to improve existing operational workflows. Build relationships with stakeholders to understand their roles and requirements and clearly communicate with them on progress, challenges, and questions. Ensure resilience and stability through quality code reviews, unit and regression testing, and level two production support for owned tools. Collaborate with team members in a multi-office, multi-time zone environment. Skills/Qualifications: A degree specializing in Computer Science, Technology, MIS, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or similar. 1 - 2 years of industry experience with cloud-based technologies. Experience in a scripting language such as Python or PowerShell, including respective testing modules. Exposure to and understanding of cloud ecosystems such as AWS or Azure, including knowledge of their respective APIs for provisioning and monitoring particularly Terraform. Understanding of Agile work environments, including knowledge of Azure DevOps, GIT and CI/CD. Experience with Windows Server environments. Experience troubleshooting clients' technical issues, and experience working with engineering teams, sales, professional services, and customers. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to work with teams across geography. Create and deliver best practices recommendations, documentation for internal wiki pages, and presentations. Good to have: Experience with Linux server environments. Experience with Kubernetes environments. Previous experience working in the Financial Services or Technology industry.
