Description
The HR Manager maintains and enhances the company’s human resources functions by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs and practices
Primary Responsibilities
- Improves and maintains positive organizational systems, fostering an environment where workers like to work
- Processes bi-weekly payroll for approximately 200 employees, prepares associated reports for Accounting
- Oversees recruiting new employees, interviewing process, and applicant tracking
- Coordinates pre-employment drug screens, job offers and orientation
- Manage employee personnel files
- Serves as liaison for employee benefits including health, dental, disability insurance, HSA accounts, apparel program, employee appreciation programs, etc.
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state (Blasius operates in MI, IN, and OH), and local employment law, including but not limited to ERISA, FMLA, DOL, ADA, ACA and COBRA regulations
- Manage Employee Handbook and ensure policies follow current regulations
- Manage absence tracking and coordinate absence related discipline with appropriate department manager
- Oversee 401(k) plan including enrollment, updating, loan calculations/applications, and reporting
- Manage employment terminations process including exit interviews and return of company property
- Monitor and respond to unemployment requests
- Maintain organization chart
- Manage job requirements and job descriptions for all company positions
- Manage disciplinary action process
- Other duties as assigned by the company's General Manager
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise HR department staff, currently 1 full-time and 2 part-time employees

Pay
$53,000/year and up, depending on experience

Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business management, or related field OR equivalent work experience (4-8 years working in HR) in lieu of degree
- Work history of at least 3 years performing strategic and/or leadership-level HR responsibilities
