SUMMARY: The Junior Engineering Technician is responsible to assist the Senior Engineering Technician in prototype and pre-production builds and supporting the documentation efforts resulting from these builds.
Maintains established quality and productivity standards by reading and following written production instructions and ISO documented procedures
Primary Position Responsibilities:
Assembling – Identifies required hardware and attaches connectors and components according to the production instructions.
Wire Prepping – Prepares wires for assembly by cleaning, trimming, or applying material to wire surface.
General Soldering – solders parts – wire to composites, grounds etc. Following work instruction and training, selects proper tool(s) for the job as required.
Bonding – use proper fixture to bond ceramic to QW, able to bond an appropriately sixed bond line.
Mixing Epoxy – follows procedures to mix epoxies uniformly with right amount of resin and hardener.
Cleaning – Follows cleaning procedures to clean parts, perform cleaning test.
Cable Assembling – follows procedures to assemble cable for different applications.
Connector Assembling – follows procedures to assemble connectors for different applications.
Polishing – applying a smooth finish to a transducer.
Life Check – checks the buttons for electrical shorts.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Maintains a safe working environment by following safety rules and regulations.
Completes all process verification records accurately.
Trained to use and maintain all measuring equipment in the production area.
Monitors and Notifies Team Leader on an adequate level of supply items from the “Grocery Store”
Special Soldering – Solders to 1-3 composite ceramic and/or electrode separated ceramic.
Conforms ceramic and quarterwaves – Identifies correct conforming fixtures and procedures to conform correct ceramic and quarterwaves .
Pull parts from kanban bins as indicated on bills of materials and notify kanban administrator when bin in production area needs replenished.
Utilize production computer to look up appropriate prints,(MD, CM, CA, Etc.) for verification of problems of form fit or function as they arise on the production floor.
Be certified on running the pachymeter polishing lathe and polish delays on pachymeter probes as spelled out on shop travelers.
Pot Pachymeter Probes with appropriate potting materials obtained from shop travelers and mixed (if applicable to appropriate MCs
Assembles transducer & transducers exposed parts per applicable ILS that must meet final electrical specifications and QC inspections.
Assembles pre-made PB buttons into inner case/RF rings per assembly instructions.
Bond Pachymeter delay lines per shop travelers with concentration of the bond lines.
Test appropriate transducers on customer supplied pieces of equipment to verify performance.
Responsible for knowing critical path and dates in product development schedule.
Resolves and prioritizes constraints and conflicts to minimize impact to project timeline.
Records procedure changes – records necessary changes to the procedure and submits it to the documentation department.

Education H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent
Experience: Required: Ability to measure; Ability to follow written and verbal instruction.
Skills: Required: Strong knowledge of soldering. Good hand/eye coordination skills/Able to work under microscope.
