Job Summary: Blavity Inc. is looking for a Senior Video Editor to provide video editing support for its branded video production team. The Senior Video Editor will be responsible for the post-production editing of various high-value branded video projects across Blavity Inc. brands. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of working in a dynamic and high-speed team environment with the ability to demonstrate strong editing and graphics design skills while meeting deadlines.
This role will report directly to the Associate Director, Video. Contractors will be responsible for providing their own equipment.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently and creatively take a project from rough cut to final exports.
- Manage the process of color grading, sound mixing, modern and sleek graphics, and visual storytelling designed to capture our audience’s attention.
- Execute end-to-end editing of scripted and unscripted videos for multiple social formats (IG, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter) in partnership with the Post-Production Supervisor.
- Demonstrate video editing ability through strong knowledge of timing and creativity in projects.
- Collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to assemble edits, implement feedback and deliver projects on time and in scope, with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in film, production, or experience in lieu of
- Years of Experience: 4 years experience in digital content creation
- Technology: Must be proficient with Adobe Premiere and After Effects
- Other Experience/Skills:
- Strong technical editing experience
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience with editing sponsored or branded projects for high value clients
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to creatively think through edits and apply feedback efficiently
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with creating or modifying graphic assets
- A strong creative vision and an understanding of the Blavity audience
Details: This is a (1099) contract that has a pay rate of $60 per hour and requires a minimum time commitment of at least 20 hours per week but no more than 30 hours per week for up to 3 months.
