About the Role
This is an outstanding opportunity to be a founding member of the Los Angeles team at Block, and a great opportunity for strong operators with an interest in home renovation to join an exciting startup. Project Operations Associates own the outcomes of each project and are responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and with a high degree of satisfaction. Project Operations Associates learn every element of a home renovation project by collaborating with cross functional teams including design, construction operations, procurement, and sales.
What you’ll do:
- Communicate with customers regarding the status and next steps for their project
- Set construction schedules and ensure milestones are being met on time
- Review construction outcome photos to ensure quality, and visiting the job site when necessary
- Escalate constructions questions / issues to a local construction expert
- Triage RFIs and Change Orders from contractors
- Coordinate deliveries of material with vendors and suppliers
- Help develop systems, tools and processes to improve client and contractor outcomes
What you’ll need:
- 2-5 years of experience in Project Management, military, customer service, operations management
- Passion for home improvement or design is a must. Construction or real estate experience is a plus.
- Tenacity for solving problems and getting things done
- Active listening skills and ability to de-escalate difficult customer and contractor situations
- Attention to detail and a systematic approach to completing tasks
- Strong communication and relationship development skills, both internally and externally
- Desire to learn quickly and tackle new challenges every day
- Reliable transportation in the LA metro area to occasionally travel to job sites
- Keen ability to balance priorities to optimize outcomes for clients, contractors, and Block
