Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Parts Manager to join our team. Our Parts manager is a working manager meaning they will spend part of the day at the parts counter assisting technicians/customers. As a Parts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of parts inventory management, including sourcing, ordering, receiving, and distribution. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our automotive service department has the necessary parts and supplies to meet customer demand. We are seeking an individual with at least 3-4 years of parts experience(does not need to have been in a management role)
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective parts inventory management strategies
- Source and select suppliers for parts procurement
- Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery
- Maintain accurate records of parts inventory levels and monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or excess inventory
- Collaborate with the service department to understand parts demand and ensure availability of required parts
- Utilize order management systems, such as DOW, to place orders and track deliveries
- Oversee shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
- Manage relationships with suppliers, addressing any issues or concerns that may arise
- Train and supervise parts department staff, providing guidance and support as needed
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Parts professional or similar role in the automotive industry
- In-depth knowledge of automotive parts and accessories
- Strong understanding of demand planning and inventory management principles
- Familiarity with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts sourcing
- Proficiency in using order management systems, such as AS400
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective supplier management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
