JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for achieving parts & service sales goals. Liaison between Blue Bird Corporation and dealer / fleet parts and service departments. Work with assigned dealer/fleet customers to develop, implement and execute Aftermarket Business Plans. Identify and report competitive market intelligence and voice of the customer feedback to drive business development opportunities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Liaison between Blue Bird Corporation and its dealers in a specified geographic region.
- Assist dealers/fleet customers in developing an annual business plan designed to achieve or exceed the annual target levels
- Set sales and service business targets for dealers / fleet accounts and monitor performance metrics.
- Visit each dealer at least twice a year with most dealers being visited quarterly. Address dealer issues and concerns as required and/or develop action plans to resolve issues and concerns through assignment to other Blue Bird team members.
- Provide product, systems and sales training to dealers and end customers
- As required facilitate new dealer start-ups and dealer closures
- Provide corporate with market intelligence in order to respond to competitive threats
- Monitor dealer/fleet service operations and policies to ensure they are adhering to Blue Bird standards including: complete market coverage (including the use of mobile service vehicles and Authorized Repair Centers), technician training certifications and facility requirements
- Monitor dealer/fleet parts operations and policies to ensure they’re adhering to Blue Bird standards including: sales per UIO, staffing, parts delivery, use of sales flyers and the participation in BB programs such as Bonus Bucks
- Manages and administers goodwill for the respective AOR assigned
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Develop and maintain healthy, professional and productive relationship with dealer/fleet personnel.
- Communicate & share lessons learned to improve dealer performance to benchmark standards.
- Provide pricing assistance to dealers as necessary to meet competitive situations while maintaining required gross margins.
- Ability to handle diverse assignments simultaneously; work within deadline driven environment; Willing to work flexible hours often in excess of 40 hours/week.
- RPM to communicate and coordinate with the Aftermarket team on dealer/fleet initiatives to maximize the effectiveness of regional parts and service organizations.
- RPM will regularly communicate with the Regional Sales Manager (RSM)(s) to ensure prompt resolution of service issues maximizing customer service support and satisfaction levels.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Self-motivated, able to work in an environment with limited direct supervision
- Must be able to collaborate with co-workers in the field (Regional Sales Mgr., Director of Dealer Development, Field Service Engineer, Alternative Fuel Reps,) and at corporate (Customer Support Representatives and Blue Bird Management)
- Extensive sales or marketing experience in the replacement parts HD & MD bus or truck markets
EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Experience selling replacement parts directly to dealers / parts distributors
- Excellent oral and written communications are required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Power-Point, Outlook and have the aptitude to learn quickly proprietary systems such as LN and QlikView is required
