Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
- Communicate complex analytical topics to multiple stakeholders in a clean and simple manner to address current and future business challenges
- Ability to drive and complete projects/initiatives successfully amongst different stakeholders within the company
- Manage diverse assignments while simultaneously working within a deadline driven environment
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management, within scope of practice
- Other duties as required
Knowledge & Experience
- Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst
- Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings utilizing reports and dashboards within BI applications, i.e. Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks)
- Technical expertiseregarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
- Strong analytical skillswith the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong critical thinking skills; able to think outside of the box and identify innovative approaches to business challenges
- Must be articulate and able to effectively communicate with both internal and external (non-technical) clientele
- Capable of managing confidential and proprietary information
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Strong time management, organizational and record keeping skills
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS):
Formal Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Management, Business Administration, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science or other related analytical field; or equivalent experience required
- At minimum 4 years of experience as Data Analyst working with business intelligence technologies and IT Systems
