A day in the life
The Communications Project Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating project activities in order to complete projects in a quality and timely manner. This position ensures thorough communication and collaboration with requestors and appropriate individuals to meet the needs of internal and external customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborates with project requestors and department management to gain understanding of project goals and requirements. Communicates with department management in determining proper management of requests and priorities in order to complete projects in a quality and timely manner.
- Supports internal business areas in understanding their communication needs, providing recommendations based on communications best practices and an optimal customer experience.
- Organizes and presents information in an effective manner. Communicates project process and deadlines to clients. Meets with and provide updates to management and project stakeholders to address progress or concerns.
- Ensures projects are completed from beginning to end and leads or facilitates coordination sessions with requesters, internal team members and appropriate stakeholders.
- Submits completed project request forms and communicates the plan to the team for execution. Provides clear, concise, and complete information to stakeholders. Monitors status and inform appropriate stakeholders of expected deadlines and workloads.
- Assists with short and long term department planning, providing input and knowledge regarding usual communication project cycles and needed resources.
- Assists in developing departmental goals that coincide with and support corporate objectives and initiatives.
What you need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Project Management or related. Equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training determined to be acceptable may be substituted.
- 3 years of communications, project management or related experience.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work, as well as to set priorities to meet deadlines.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers with good customer service skills.
- Be able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Have a good sense of attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Equivalent combination of education, experience or training determined to be acceptable by Human Resources may be substituted, unless regulated by contract or program standards

Job posting policy
Employees new to Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota are eligible to apply for positions within their assigned department after successfully completing 90-days in their role. For positions outside of their department, new employees should attain a minimum of six months of service before applying for a new role. Exceptions to this are acceptable, provided there is good business justification for making the move.
