Job Summary: The Production Planner is a key role in Blue Diamond Growers Sales and Operations planning process. The role is responsible for developing operational production plans for both near and intermediate terms to achieve targeted inventory and customer service levels in support of business unit objectives. The Production Planner collaborates with the Demand Planning, Operations and Business Unit teams to develop and communicate production plans, operations schedules and drives targeted service levels and cost efficiencies. This role works with and contributes to the continued development of state of the art integrated business planning tools, recommends and contributes to process improvements. The Production planner identifies risks and opportunities to the business and engages across the organization to drive optimal solutions. Job Description: Responsibilities: Develop and communicate production schedules to achieve targeted inventory levels and customer service levels. Analyze and recommend solutions to capacity, inventory and raw material constraints or optimization opportunities. Recommend process improvements and contribute to metric development, reporting and root cause analysis of exceptions. Develop and recommend inventory strategies to achieve targeted service levels and cost efficiencies. Partner with Operations to ensure efficient production runs and production order sequencing. Build and employ models to arrive at optimal solutions. Collaborate with the Manager S&OP to ensure near and midterm production plans are aligned with the long term plan. Collaborate with Customer Service representatives to achieve service delivery targets. Manage inventory holds and exceptions to minimize inventory devaluation losses. Required Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years experience in Supply Chain, Plant Operations or similar in a manufacturing environment. Experience working with an ERP/Planning systems in a manufacturing environment. High level proficiency in Microsoft office products, particularly Excel, including developing spreadsheets with data management functions and formulas. Strong time management skills and demonstrated ability to meet firm deadlines. Demonstrated attention to detail while working with large volumes of data. Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple functions, participate in team meetings and communicate effectively to multiple levels across the organization Additional Preferred Qualifications: Previous production planning experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience working within SAP ERP production planning. Knowledge of food processing methods, quality and safety requirements. Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management or similar strongly preferred. Commensurate experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
