Blue Duck Ambassador Expectations and Responsibilities
Blue Duck is a leading micromobility company operating shared e-scooters and e-bikes in communities across Texas and the Southeastern US. We are searching for talented, passionate and energetic ambassadors to represent our scooter program in Waco, TX. These ambassadors will proudly and responsibly represent our brand and help people move around your city with ease and fun.
This exciting role is part-time with clear monthly expectations; the goal is to increase ridership and utilization of Blue Duck’s shared e-scooters through various marketing and outreach methods, including local engagement and events. Being an ambassador will provide opportunities to engage with local nonprofit professionals, city officials, elected officials, community leaders and much more!
Blue Duck ambassadors will love to bike and scoot, be known and trusted in the local community and be willing to talk to anyone and everyone about Blue Duck in an engaging, comfortable and educational way. Residents and local college students are encouraged to apply. $16 - $19 per hour plus mileage, free rides, and merchandise.
Mandatory Requirements
- MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE
- MUST CURRENTLY RESIDE OR PLAN TO RESIDE WITHIN THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, FL
- Great positive attitude and willing to work, interact, and represent Blue Duck Scooters.
Expectations Responsibilities
- Orientation
- Complete a comprehensive training to learn and love Blue Duck’s vision for your city's shared mobility program.
- All training schedules will be coordinated with selected ambassadors
- Launch Event – Mandatory Participation
- Participate in street team efforts leading up to and promoting our official launch event.
- Help coordinate, set up, table and break down the launch event. Event activities will include:
- Scooter and bike demos
- Swag giveaways
- App downloads
- Media interviews
- Social media posts
- Events – (minimum of 1 per month)
- Ambassadors must plan and execute (or collaborate with local partners to participate in) at least 1 monthly event.
- Quarterly, the Blue Duck team will be expected to plan and host “Duck Days” with support from the Partnerships Team
- Ambassadors will research, identify and partner with local events as appropriate
- Ambassadors will identify interested groups within their local network and meet with them about Blue Duck to onboard new riders
- Social Media Digital Marketing Efforts
- Ambassadors will be expected to support promotions of all Blue Duck events via social media channels and other creative methods and ideas
- The ambassadors will be allowed access to the Blue Duck social media channels and will be expected to post stories/posts for the local market at least 1x per month in coordination with the Blue Duck Partnerships Team and other market ambassadors
- New Sign-Ups – 100 per month
- Drive app downloads and get new members onboarded
- Identify and implement successful methods to recruit new Blue Duck riders
- Each ambassador will be designated a unique referral code/promo code for tracking
- Collect stories with potential to be shared via blog and social media
- Create content (photos, videos, etc.)
- Complete Instagram ‘takeovers’ within the market, sharing Blue Duck’s perspective within the community
- Identify local partners for Blue Duck to with on cross-promotion
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Ambassador candidates should have the following qualifications:
- A passion for sales, marketing and events
- A love for shared micromobility and connecting with people
- A fondness and familiarity with your community
- Ability to communicate effectively with people of all ages, abilities, cultural groups, economic status and sexual orientation
- Ability to be self-motivated, persistent, professional and creative when promoting Blue Duck
- Comfortable with public speaking, presenting information, engaging large groups and interacting with the media/being on camera
- Commitment to following traffic safety laws and using all appropriate safety gear including helmets, reflective material, etc.… when riding a bike or scooter
- Punctuality and good attendance
- Responsibility and organization
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Interest in working with transportation and shared micromobility
- Interest in supporting and informing the community
- Previous experience with community organizations and local events
TIME COMMITMENT
This is a part-time, hourly position with paid training and monthly expectations laid out above and evaluated based on successful completion of all metrics. An ambassador should not have to work more than approximately 20-30 hours per month.
