Job Posting for Corporate Trainer at Blue Raven Solar
Objective
The Corporate Trainer will be responsible primarily for training all new corporate operations employees and eventually all corporate employees. The training program currently consists of a full 40-hour week of mixed classroom and practical instruction. Other responsibilities include maintaining and improving the training program itself, including schedule, materials, topics and learning objectives, and working with HR, Recruiting, and Operations Managers to generate metrics for evaluating the effectiveness of the program and the quality of hires. The key to success in this role is to collaborate with other leaders and help new hires to achieve their learning objectives. A successful trainer will not merely present information but will help new hires think critically about how to be most impactful in their new roles. An exceptional trainer will improve the current program and widen its scope.
Responsibilities
Expand the scope of training responsibilities beyond operations to the entire corporate office.
Conduct training needs assessments for all departments/teams.
Develop training curriculum and help it scale with Blue Raven.
Develop testing methods and comprehension checks to use during and after training.
Train new hires and prepare them for their various operations roles.
Develop and report on metrics surrounding the health of the recruiting, onboarding, and training programs.
Effectively handle new-hire cohorts of up to 12 at a time, all with various future roles, backgrounds and learning styles.
Teach for understanding while catering to multiple different learning styles.
Build a working knowledge of the most common/most used BRS processes, policies, and procedures, including the various roles of each team in the organization.
Use the training role to facilitate Blue Raven's 2020 theme of 'One Team.' Collaborate with sales and operations leaders to infuse unity, a team mentality, and the BRS Values into the culture of all new hires across the company. Work with leaders to maintain that culture as new hires transition to their new roles.

Objectives
During the first quarter, take stock of the current state of the training program and work with your leaders to redefine the role and the future of training at Blue Raven.
Week 1 – Review all existing training materials by attending corporate training.
Week 2 – Work with operations leaders to edit and improve learning objectives, teaching strategies, and evaluation methods. Help develop metrics to measure quality of hire and effectiveness of the training program.
Weeks 3-12 – Refine presentation materials and supplemental learning materials to align with learning objectives, teaching strategies, and evaluation methods.
Over the rest of 2020 and beyond, build on the foundation you created during the first 6 weeks by incorporating feedback and using the root cause problem solving process to improve all aspects of the training program.
Experience and skills required
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Two years of classroom instruction experience
Excellent communication skills
Proficient at Microsoft office suite
Quickly learn culture, processes, and technology and be able to teach them to others
Classroom management
Teaching for understanding to multiple people with various learning styles, backgrounds, and future roles
