Dental Receptionist/Business Assistant

Description:
A Business Assistant is responsible for maintaining the appearance and order of the dental office, as well as coordinating
patient scheduling and overall patient management. This position typically greets visitors, schedules appointments, and answers
questions for the public and other interested parties. This position will obtain and provide information regarding activities conducted
at practice or the location of departments, offices, or employees within the organization. Answer multi-line telephones and record
names of callers, the time of call, and the nature of business. They also route phone calls and inform employees of visitors' arrivals
or canceled appointments. They will type letters, reports, internal and external communications, address envelopes, cards, and
labels, file correspondence and documents, and locate and remove materials from files.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of dental practice management software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, etc.)
- Knowledge of dental terminology.
- Understand and comply with policies and procedures associated with a dental practice.
- Understand and comply with HIPAA.
- Understand and comply with the HI-TECH Act of 2009.

Duties:
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments based on the patient and Dentist’s availability and needs
- Greet patients and family as they enter and exit the practice
- Record broken appointments and last minute cancellations in the patient’s chart
- Analyze data to determine answers to questions from patients or members of the public
- Maintain patient records
- Utilizing Dentrix Ascend Software
- Accountability, coaching, and development
- Schedule appointments
- Processing Claims and Billing Statements
- Delivering marketing campaigns
- Reviewing accounts receivable and collections
- Interfacing with insurance companies
- Present Treatment Plans and Collect Co-pays
- Maintain and Organize other front office duties as assigned
Education Level:
Highschool diploma or equivalent. 1 years of experience, dental office preferred. Dental practice experience is ideal but not required. A candidate with Dentrix Ascend experience will be given high consideration.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
