Job Description
Position Summary:
Active in the day-to-day preventive maintenance, repair, and fabrication necessary to maintain facility shredding machinery including conveyors, shredder, tools, heavy equipment, etc.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the maintenance and repair of processing/shredding equipment: compressors, conveyors, shredders, screens, electric motors, electric tools, and air tools.
- Rigging, lifting, and relocating a variety of complex, heavy machines, equipment, and components.
- Operating personal lifts and material handling tools.
- Ensuring manufacturing processes are capable with respect to quality specifications.
- Performing unexpected repairs.
- Performing assigned duties with little or no supervision or instruction.
- Applying knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions applicable to maintenance work.
- Maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
- Following all safety policies and procedures.
- Performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment preferred.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical prints, diagrams, and technical repair manuals preferred
- Knowledge of machinery and tools used, including: torch/welding equipment, minor electrical work, hydraulics, and hand tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and repair as necessary.
- Ability to make steel fabrications via measuring, cutting, bending, and welding.
- Knowledge in the general repair of processing/manufacturing equipment.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations and implementation of safety regulations.
- Ability to effectively communicate with other employees in the facility, both verbally and in writing.
- Willing to share ideas, techniques, and procedures with coworkers.
- Ability to work independently.
