Lead Test Engineer
Location: Remote in the United States preferably based on the East Coast
BlueVoyant is seeking a knowledgeable Lead Test Engineer to manage our Test Engineering Team to help guide and implement best practices for automated regression and testing capabilities in support of specific technology platforms used to deliver our internet-scale intelligence and managed security products. In this role you will serve as a thought leader and champion for best practices.
General responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, and documenting automation and test scripts.
- Work with a cross-functional team to proactively improve on existing integration automation/workflows.
- Refine our DevOps methodology based on industry best practices for quality assurance with continuous feedback against well-defined metrics.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of QA technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
- Ensure technical issues are quickly resolved and help implement strategies and solutions to reduce the likelihood of recurrence.
- Work with peers to ensure the end-to-end solution provided by BV works seamlessly for our clients.
What you will do:
- Implement best practices for quality and testing in coordination with the team.
- Design and develop a testing process that will scale as the team grows.
- Design and develop automated tests that will minimize regressions.
- Define metrics that will help the team understand and track the level of coverage.
- Develop acceptance test criteria in coordination with the team.
- Share expertise with the team to improve test mindshare.
- Recommend tools and framework based on best-of-breed industry standards.

Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience creating automation tests for large scale cloud-based systems (Azure,AWS, GCP), API’s and microservices with minimal and evolving requirements.
- Strong belief in automation over manual testing.
- Expert-level experience with common automation testing platforms.
- Hands-on experience with test packages for JavaScript, Python, and Golang.
- Excellent understanding of the Software Test Life Cycle in an Agile environment.
- Excellent understanding of the different levels of software testing.
- Proficiency using Git, ticketing systems such as JIRA, and CI/CD a plus.
- Understanding of modern web application structure and code.
- Must be self-driven, independent, creative, and especially eager to learn new skills.
- BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field experience.
- Experience in managing small engineering teams.
