Position Overview:
As the primary team member accountable to Broking for contractual documentation for client accounts assigned, expected to apply reinsurance concepts and solid language writing skills to each contract/program assigned, including some peer reviewing responsibilities. Responsible for delivering consistently accurate and timely contract documentation, and managing own workload and deadlines with Brokers to ensure expectations are met on assigned accounts. Perform all contract drafting and document management responsibilities within published guidelines and with leadership guidance as needed. Viewed as a partner to the placement process and expected to be available to support those activities when needed, as reasonable.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Create, edit and analyze contract provisions, which accurately memorialize negotiated reinsurance placement terms;
  • Submit written documents to Contract Wording Manager and/or Team Leader for review and approval;
  • Occasionally perform peer review of contracts;
  • Work closely with broker teams throughout the placement process, and assist in finding creative reinsurance solutions, while optimizing the wording for the client;
  • Document broker/client/market conversations in accordance with BMS professional standard guidelines;
  • Interact with clients and reinsurance markets, as needed, to assist in the wording negotiations;
  • Proofread documentation to ensure accuracy;
  • Perform other duties, as assigned
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
  • A minimum of eight (8) years’ experience working on reinsurance wording in a US/London market environment;
  • BA or BS degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience;
  • Working knowledge of standard market wordings and the ability to identify and resolve potential technical issues;
  • Excellent writing ability;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products;
  • Self-motivated and proactive;
  • Organized with ability to prioritize;
  • Strong analytical ability

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide marker range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary advanced to the desired candidate will be based on a number of factors, including geographic location and the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the desired candidate.
