Our Team

Data and Analytics Solutions (D&A) is a public- and private-cloud-based software and content offering that builds client-centric data, technology, and content capabilities. Operating with the skill and agility of a fintech. D&A combines the expertise and resources of the Eagle product suite (data management, accounting, and performance) and Intermediary Analytics sales and distribution data. The offering also includes a suite of new cloud-based products and other BNY Mellon technology and data assets. Moreover, the division further extends BNY Mellon’s Asset Servicing capabilities in securities and cash into the world’s most important asset class, data.

The Role

As a Cloud Network Architect (CNA) at BNYM, you will be responsible for working with our team of CNAs to design and build leading edge network solutions for mission critical IaaS, SaaS and PaaS in Public and Private Cloud.  You will be responsible for developing new standards for connectivity and configuration, gathering business and functional requirements, and deploying solutions with automation for repetitive tasks.

The CNA has proven experience in networking, current DC technologies and SDDC, WAN and SDWAN, network routing, load balancers, DNS, network security solutions and public cloud networking.  A working knowledge of developing automated solutions (Net DevOps) is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop networking solutions for IaaS/SaaS/PaaS applications that reside in private cloud, public cloud or both.
• Understand the ‘big picture’ to develop solutions that will integrate smoothly, provide high availability and follow standards and security policy.
• Work with application engineering, devops, operations and clients to identify connectivity requirements.  Understand end to end network traffic flows.
• Design and deploy network solutions for integrated on-prem application functions with cloud application functions.
• Develop and document new standards for network deployments. 
• Work independently, plan your work, lead networking discussions with other teams, vendors and clients
• Provide leadership and coaching for deployment teams and network operations

Qualifications/Technical Skills

• 10 years of hands-on networking experience in IaaS/SaaS network deployments
• Designed and deployed solutions with BGP, SDDC (Cisco ACI), WAN and Edge technologies (PtP, MPLS, VPN, SDWAN), Firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto), Load Balancers (Netscaler, F5), DNS, IPAM (Infoblox)
• Experience with Public Cloud networking (Azure - preferred, AWS, GCP or OCI)
• Understanding of DevOps, IaC, and automated network functions
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Excellent organizational, verbal and written skills. 
• Experience with Agile methodology, Jira, MS Office, Visio and other network drawing tools

Nice to have Qualifications: 

• Network DevOps experience with Ansible, Python, Yaml, Terreform etc.
• Experience with network tools: Solarwinds, Thousand Eyes
• Multi-cloud networking experience: Aviatrix
• Project management skills. Agile Product Management.

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred

10-12 years of related experience required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
