Senior Specialist, Data Governance
This role will specifically focus on the Data Governance and Stewardship function for the HR/GIC Corporate Function. The Analyst will work under the leadership of the Data Leader for the group and will interact across all the CoE areas that are being on-boarded into the Data Governance Framework. The Analyst will need to understand the process and workflows being defined under the Data Governance and Stewardship Framework. Also, the Lead Analyst will be responsible for adherence to the policies, standards and processes being defined.
Support ongoing data related initiatives led by Data Governance Organization and other key corporate initiatives related to data quality and data integration Assist in setting up new procedures and practices supporting the Data Governance and Stewardship functions.
The Analyst will be the point of contact with the CoE groups and assist in the overall enablement, adoption and monitoring the set controls.
Many of the daily responsibilities will be similar to project implementation: Business Glossary Administration, Meta Data dictionary Administration, Data Metering, Data Stewardship and Data Quality Score-carding. The candidate will drive and manage business forums focusing on data governance and stewardship functions.

Data Governance and Stewardship
- Data Asset Management
- Management of assets in the Data Governance Tools (Business Terms, Data Elements, Business Rules, Tag, Taxonomy, Synonyms, relation between assets within/across tools)
- Analysis of systems/data and metadata being on-boarded
- Facilitate the documentation of the lineage/metadata catalog
- Enterprise Glossary Management
- Participate in/Perform glossary standardization with the CoE group and/or the Enterprise
- Facilitate the various working groups to assist in creation of an HR/GIC Glossary
- Reference Data Management
- Categorization of the Business Terms marked as containing reference values
- Collection of reference list of values from the Business Group
- Rationalizing the values received across the Business Groups
- Facilitating the creation of authoritative Reference values
- Process Governance for a Business Group
- Facilitate the codification process of Business Rules for Data Quality Management
- Facilitate the Issue Management process
- Facilitate the Issue Remediation by interacting with the Provider and Consumer of the data
- Reporting
- Act as a Point of Contact for the Business Group
- Prepare dashboards/metrics for Business Groups/working groups/Enterprise Level reporting
- Enhance Stakeholder Experience
- Interact with users both from Business and Technology, understand needs, provide solutions
- Provide value to the client
- Recommend improvements to the Data Governance Tools – Product Management Team
Product Support
- Understand DG tools capability/functionality and educate business users accordingly through working session
- Create/Update Process related artefacts, guidelines documents, simulations, etc.)
- Prepare artifacts and communication documents to conduct business working sessions
- Provide on-going support to users of Data Governance Tools
- Provide customer service for day-to-day process/product related queries
- Interact with Business Users to gather requirements, inclusive of Integration and Reporting from Tools
- Provide recommendations to improve usage of Data Governance Tools

Required Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree with fair understanding of Investment Banking industry and 5-7 years of working experience for the role
- Familiarity with Data Stewardship, Data Management, Data Governance
- Project oversight and Client facing experience. They need good project management skills to help the Data Governance Team build a new practice area in the firm.
- Good understanding of high-level data architecture, data models and flow patterns. Ability to understand, manage and navigate large data sets
- Good knowledge of various database concepts
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of any Data Governance/Stewardship Tools (preferably Informatica, Collibra)
- Familiarity with Quality Assurance methodologies
