What are the responsibilities and job description for the Test Engineer SME (TE4) position at Boarhog LLC?

Boarhog is seeking a conscientious, energetic Test Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME, Labor Code TE4) to become a "plank owner" member of a new multi-company Systems Engineering Team responsible for applying interdisciplinary engineering skills in the technical planning, systems integration, verification and validation, cost and risk and supportability and effectiveness analyses for complex solutions or products. Analyses are performed at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.

LOCATION:
  • For the first three months of contract startup, estimated to commence in April 2023, (and possibly up to the first 6 months after startup), the full Systems Engineering team will initially be hosted in the Sterling VA facility, including being provided with desks, workstations, phones, SCIF space, classified and unclassified network access, clearance crossovers, etc. It is also possible that engineering positions could be hosted in the Sterling VA facility beyond the initial 6 months if desired. After the first 3 to 6 months the location requirement will be relaxed, with various locations open for consideration.
  • Consideration will be given to applicants who current reside in, or will commit to residing in a Small Business Administration (SBA) designated Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone). See SBA website for HUBZone map detailing the areas and addresses that qualify.

QUALIFICATION:
Qualifications and/or particular expertise are exceptional and/or highly unique, typically identified as a recognized Industry leader for a given area of expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Initiates supervises and/or develops requirements from a project’s inception to a conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs.
  • Provide strategic advice, technical guidance, and expertise to program and project staff.
  • Provide detailed analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for improvements, optimization. development, and/or maintenance efforts for mission-critical challenges/issues.
  • Determine the optimal approach to testing complex products or solutions to assure compliance with applicable specifications. This includes identifying and recommending product or solution characteristics that optimize their ability to be tested or to provide test data for diagnostic purposes.
  • Combine customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Develop and direct preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for completing systems.
  • Coordinate integrated testing activities.
  • Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure the completeness of the test program.
  • Perform a technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system-level evaluations.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Twelve (12) years.
  • Education beyond minimum may qualify as experience; typically 2 years beyond BA/BS for MS/MS and 4 years (2 years beyond MA/MS) for Ph.D.

EDUCATION:
Minimum BA/BS in a relevant field of study.

CLEARANCE:
The position requires a TS/SCI clearance. As such, an acceptable candidate must possess an active TS/SCI clearance or TS clearance and be SCI Eligible, with a SF86 that's current within the calendar year. Boarhog's Facility Security Officer will request and receive the SCI Eligibility determination from vetting prior to Boarhog issuing a contingent offer letter.
