Responsibilities
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director of HR-Operations, the Regional Human Resource Business Partner is responsible for managing and overseeing all HR related activities over multiple facilities. The Regional HR Manager guides effective and efficient implementation of HR best practices including employee relations, HR compliance, performance management, staffing, succession planning, field communications and compensation. Partners with plant and operations leadership to deliver a highly engaged workforce, promoting ownership and accountability, goal attainment and continuous learning and improvement at all levels of the plant.
Accountabilities:
- Partner with regional operations leaders to identify, prioritize and drive action against key priorities and processes needed to achieve business results
- Lead and direct workforce planning for field manufacturing and/or transportation operations
- Design strategy to close gaps between current state of employee engagement and the desired state
- Demonstrate change management leadership by understanding the desired outcomes, effectively involving, managing, and communicating with key stakeholders impacted by change and mitigating the barriers to change
- Work with site leadership to understand HR KPI key drivers and opportunity for continuous improvement to meet targets
- Collaborate with plants and field HR employees to integrate Safety behaviors and program participation into everyday processes and mindsets
- Improve/create or implement best practice onboarding programs, collaborating with other field sites and HR leaders
- Support implementation of key HR Initiatives (i.e. annual wage review processes, coaching, streamlined templated, behavioral management process, SRMP)
- Oversee and provide guidance on site HR issues involving legal, compliance and financial risk to organization
- Ensure HR site compliance to local processes, state, and federal law. Audit processes and work with HR leaders to implement innovative improvements where necessary.
- Report on plant metrics and provide action plans against areas needing improvements; collaborate with site leadership to ensure accountabilities, execution, and continued improvement against improvement plans
- Identify administrative non-value add HR work and collaborate with corporate or business leaders to automate, streamline or eliminate duties that add cost but no business, customer, or employee value
- Ability to work autonomously in ambiguous situations and adapt quickly to change, as well as guide varying levels of the organization through change
- Ability to flex style when faced with numerous and competing priorities
- Provide work direction and coaching for HR Managers and other HR professionals in the field
- Labor relations management
- 75% travel
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- MBA, master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Effectiveness or other related field preferred
- Proven success working cross-functionally both internally and externally
- Experience working with Labor unions preferred
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in human resources or related field, with 3 or more years leading a salaried work team
- HR field Manufacturing experience required
- Must have strong experience leading multi-site or large-scale operations
- Results and metrics driven with the ability to work in a high performance-manufacturing environment
- Able to understand organizational strategy while advancing operational goals, including strong business acumen and the ability to apply business strategies situationally
- Ability to lead complex change and transformation efforts and manage multiple, complex tasks with attention to detail. This includes excellent ability to motivate and communicate with diplomacy to facilitate positive outcomes
- Trusted advisor with an ability to coach, mentor and guide managers around people and business issues
- Must have ability to establish rapport with all levels of the organization
- Ability to create human resource solutions with a bottom-line result
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, principles, and practices related to employee conduct, performance, and dispute resolution to protect the business from potential liabilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
- Ability to manage through difficult situations while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders
- Advanced MS Excel skills
