Data Architect
Job Posting for Data Architect at Bob Jones University
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Discerning, defining, refining, and documenting business requirements.
- Designing and developing data warehouses, data marts, and data models
- Collaborate on creating business requirements documents and technical requirements documents.
- Building out demonstration scenarios and prototypes
- Executing solution delivery
- Maintaining and improving existing Data infrastructure to improve quality and speed of reporting.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor's degree or graduate degree and at least 8 years of related work experience degree with an emphasis in Math, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business
- Proficiency with ETL (extract, transform, load), Microsoft SQL Server Database Engine (database development and tuning), Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Pipeline, Azure Synapse Analytics
- Experience with data migrations and conversions. Experience using T-SQL scripts (stored procedures, views, functions etc.) to manipulate data and simplify access to data
- Experience with data modeling (3NF and dimensional data models), understanding of the appropriate purpose for each
- Strong focus and ability to manage and construct Dimensional Data Warehouses
- Experience with Power BI for data modeling and creating visualizations.
- Experience with the following will be a plus: SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) Display ability to facilitate meetings.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management and staff.
- Demonstrate ability to multi-task.
Education
Preferred- Bachelors or better
