What are the responsibilities and job description for the Groundskeeper position at Bob Jones University?
SUMMARY : Perform general building maintenance and repair work.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Ability to follow and complete instructions
- Ability to apply common sense when working on solutions
- Trouble-shoot and correct building or system failures
- Discernment to contact supervisor concerning transfer of work demanding time or skill beyond the scope of this department
- Occasionally serve as backup for the supervisor in his absence
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
- Trade school helpful
- Some building and building repair experience
- 1-2 years of experience preferred
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- Mechanical skills in variety of areas; willingness to learn other disciplines
- Expertise in a specific area is helpful, but not required
- Courteous communication skills with the clients, public, and fellow workers
Licensing in area of expertise encouraged
